Is there still time to get to the Ghibli store? As of October 12, about eleven weekends remain. Del Amo Fashion Center's biggest arrivals of 2026 are pop-ups, and each one posted its closing date the day it opened. The new shops with no posted end date arrived with much less noise.
Between now and spring, the mall loses its three most-discussed stores one at a time. The first goes on Halloween. The next closes a week after Santa's last day. The third stays until late March. If you live in Torrance and treat Del Amo as your errand mall, the order matters more than the opening announcements did.
October 31: The HIRONO Pop-Up Goes First
The shortest run belongs to Pop Mart. Its HIRONO After Dark pop-up is listed as open through October 31, with a notice posted September 10. Del Amo's event listing puts it on the Main Level between Lululemon and BOSS.
That location is temporary. The directory separately lists a Pop Mart store as "Coming Soon" on the Main Level near Macy's Women. No opening date for that store has been posted, so for now the October pop-up is the only sure way to shop the brand here. Once the pop-up closes, Pop Mart is only a "coming soon" sign until that store opens.
The closing date lands one day after Del Amo's free Mall-O-Ween trick-or-treat, scheduled for Friday, October 30, from 4 to 6 p.m., according to Discover Torrance. If your household is already heading to the mall in costume that Friday, the pop-up is still open.
December 31: Six Months of Ghibli Run Out
Donguri Republic is the store most people mean when they talk about Del Amo this year. It is the official Studio Ghibli merchandise shop, and the Torrance location is its first in the United States. When VIZ Media announced the opening, it described the shop as a limited-time location, and the release gives a firm window.
"For six months only, fans can shop exclusive merchandise inspired by Studio Ghibli's most celebrated films."
VIZ lists the run as June 23 through December 31, 2026, at Shop No. 179. The mall directory places it on the Lower Level. According to VIZ, the shop carries more than 400 officially licensed products from films including My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. The space has wood-inspired interiors and a giant Totoro waiting at a bus stop for the Cat bus.
Some early details have already expired. VIZ said the opening offer was a Los Angeles tote with purchases of $100 or more, while supplies lasted. Don't count on finding that tote this late in the run.
No extension has been announced. Donguri Republic's current mall listing still describes it as a first U.S. pop-up running through December 31. The only talk of a permanent American store comes from SoraNews24, which wrote in June that a successful pop-up "could pave the way" for one. That is speculation, not a plan.
The Ghibli store's final weeks also overlap with the busiest stretch of the mall calendar. Del Amo's Santa runs from Saturday, November 14, through Thursday, December 24. For the last six weeks of the Ghibli run, the store shares the mall with Santa, and it closes one week after Christmas Eve. If you planned to buy Ghibli gifts, November weekdays fall before both the Santa crowd and the closing date.
March 28, 2027: Shonen Jump Gets the Winter
The Shonen Jump Shop is the one pop-up that outlasts the holidays. Its official page bills it as Shonen Jump Shop in Los Angeles, though the address is Del Amo, 3525 W Carson St in Torrance. Posted details:
- Run: July 1, 2026, through March 28, 2027
- Hours: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Location: Del Amo Fashion Center; the official page does not give a mall level
The Sunday hours stand out. The shop closes at 7 p.m. on Sundays, two hours earlier than on Saturdays, which matters if you tend to go to the mall late on a weekend.
VIZ's announcement mentions updated product assortments and exclusive gifts with purchase over the course of the run. That suggests the stock will change between now and March rather than stay fixed. The mall listing reads "Now open through March 28, 2027," and no extension has been announced there either.
With HIRONO gone after October and Donguri Republic gone after New Year's, Shonen Jump will spend roughly three months as the only one of the year's big Japanese pop-culture pop-ups still open.
What Stays After the Pop-Ups Leave
The newcomers with no end date got far less press. In July, L.A. Business First reported nine new Del Amo tenants. The preview mentioned the Ghibli store alongside the first Southern California location of a San Francisco rice-ball shop.
That rice-ball shop is Onigilly, and unlike the pop-ups it has no posted end date. The mall now lists it as a restaurant with daily hours on the Main Level in the Outdoor Village. The listing says the onigiri are made fresh to order. The brand's ordering page takes scheduled pickup orders for Suite 80. What Now Los Angeles reported in January that the franchise would sit opposite AMC and was expected to open in the summer. The exact opening day was never published. A rice ball before a movie is now an option that wasn't there last year.
Two retail additions are also open:
- N. Cat, a Korean accessories brand, opened its first U.S. store at Del Amo. Chain Store Age reported a grand-opening event on August 22. The directory places the store on the Main Level near L'Occitane.
- Rowan is listed with regular daily hours on the Main Level near Macy's Women.
Another group is still marked "Coming Soon" with no opening dates posted:
- Olive Young, Main Level
- Caitlyn Minimalist, Main Level
- AUNTEA JENNY, which lists its Del Amo address as Unit 76 on its own locations page
- Pop Mart's store, near Macy's Women
ThirdLove is harder to pin down. The mall directory shows it as "Coming Soon" on the Main Level near Banana Republic. The brand's own store locator lists the Torrance location with hours and appointment booking. Check before you make a trip for it.
